Which Las Vegas hotel is better? The Venetian or the Bellagio?

I found great pricings for a vacation package for both of these hotels. But Its hard choosing, so what are your opinions?

Apparently my husband and I are in the minority here.

We've stayed at both the Bellagio and the Venetian. While the basic rooms at the Venetian are nicer, we find the Bellagio itself a far nicer hotel and won't stay at the Venetian again.

All hotels in Vegas require that you move through the casino area to get, well, anywhere -- that's how you get lured in, and that's fine. But the Bellagio is 1) much more pleasant to move through, 2) much more sophisticated -- beautiful without being glitzy (in my opinion the Venetian jumps past beautiful and goes straight to over the top kitschy), and 3) far easier to move through, which is to say, the passages are designed to be easy to move through without getting you lost in a maze of tables or machines.

But it's personal taste, like everything else. The Bellagio is more reminiscent of Monte Carlo.

Also, the pool area at the Bellagio is superior, with a very European layout and flavor, and smaller pools and cabanas that offer a feeling of privacy that the Venetian lacks.

If you're going to spend a lot of time in your room then I'd go with the Venetian, because as I said, the basic rooms there are superior to the basic rooms at the Bellagio. But if that's not the case, I'd go with the Bellagio.

While I have never stayed at either, I have visited both. If the choice were mine, I would stay at the Venetian. Both are beautiful with plenty to offer, but I found the Venetian to be more attractive.

i have stayed at both hotels and I liked the Venetian better but not by much. The Bellagio has better shopping and is a little more centrally located (but not by much) but the Venetian is much more classy. Both are two of the more expensive hotels I actually like the Mirage the best.

if you found GOOD pricing, i'd stay at the Venetian, but personally, i'd rather stay somewhere less expensive and not put out the extra money just to say that i stayed at so and so casino. how much time are you actually going to spend in the room?

i was out there only once and stayed at Bally's since we had a GREAT deal. our room was in the old section and faced the Eifel Tower of Paris and we were able to see the Bellagio's water show from our window.

The Venetian is a nicer hotel, but if you can stay somewhere else for less money I would recommend that since you will not be in the hotel much.
