Bellagio vs. Venetian?

Although we have been to Vegas several times, we are planning a special anniversary trip and would like to stay in a nice place. We are trying to decide between the Bellagio and the Venetian. Does anyone have an opinion on which is better? Thanks!

I prefer the Venetian. Much larger rooms and talk about luxury! The rooms are about 150 square feet larger than Bellagio. Beautiful, too. Marble foyer, sunken living room, writing desk, fax/copier machine, flat screen TV, tables, many chairs, in-room safe. The bedroom has another big flat screen TV, canopied beds. The bathroom is huge, separate tub and shower and has another flat screen TV. There is also a rooftop garden.

Not much difference between the Venezia or Venetian Towers. But the Venezia is supposed to be quieter and more elegant. The clientele tend to be wealthier and more refined. Not likely to have a bunch of drunken college kids running in the hallways.

There is a five acre pool area and some fabulous restaurants. I recommend Delmonico's Steakhouse. Have the concierge make a reservation otherwise the wait can be quite long.

Well both are very nice! Venetian has great sculptures and is a real sightseeing place. Bellagio has an amazing water fountain show. It is very romantic! It also has a breathtaking conservatory. On Christmas they had reindeers made out of different flowers. It also has many fountains and they change their exhibit every season or holiday. It is very relaxing! Hope that helps! Also, you might want to try Mandalay Bay!Amazing resort!

We're also taking an anniversary trip to Vegas, and narrowed it down to the same 2 hotels. We've chosen the Venetian, but our trip isn't for a few weeks.

We chose the Venetian because we liked the rooms (all suites) and the price was better. There are still lots of amenities - shops, restaurants, etc and we think we'll like the atmosphere there. I found Bellagio to be a bit snooty when we were hanging out there last year. But it looks fabulous too.

Actually try the Palazzo. It is brand new and gorgeous! Also when you stay there you also have access to all of the amenities of the Venetian because they are connected and technically the same hotel!

You can get the best rates on the palazzo at http://www.BestofVegas.com

For the money, I honeslty think Venetian is better. The rooms are huge, and very nice. Each room feels like your own suite. Bellagios rooms are also great, but a little smaller and more like a regular hotel room.

I dont think you are going to go wrong with either one. I would go with whatever gives you the best deal.

i've never stayed at either place, but just walking thru both of them, the Venetian seems like the better choice. the Bellagio didn't have much in the way of shopping. the Venetian sure did, though! that place is HUGE! loved it! Plus they have the gondola rides.

good luck & happy anniversary!

I love the Venetian over the Bellagio, and the Venetian is connected right to the brand new Palazzo which has a street bridge to Wynn.

Venetian is a fun mall with free entertainment, the Goggenheim Museum (still open for now), and more open space.

you can read the reviews and get a great deal and buy tickets for the shows on this site also I personally like the Bellagio I like the location better. plus the garden and shopping is great. Just be prepared to blow alot of money.

I would chose the Venetian. Their smallest suite is 650 sq. ft.

I think Bellagio is overrated.

The Venetian is supposed to have the biggest rooms on the strip. The mall connected to it is wonderful.

I love the fountain show at the Bellagio, but that's an easy walk from the Venetian.

I was married in February and we stayed at the Venetian. I love the shops and the canals. the staff was wonderful.

have fun.

Both are excellent but have slightly different strengths and weaknesses.

Venetian:

1. Bigger rooms 720 vs 550 square feet (usually)

2. Best Poker room in Vegas unless you play big stakes

3. Slightly better video poker than Bellagio

4. No buffet (Zefferinos on Sunday is pretty good but not the best)

5. Excellent shows (Phantom, Blue Man, Wayne Brady (improv style comedy)

6. One of the best nightclubs but only when you get bottle service, Tau, and you get guest list pass! The Bank is not bad at Bellagio but is not as well decorated, crowded and fewer celebs. You might prefer it because of that though.

7. Top Italian in Vegas at B&B (actually in Palazzo)

8. One of the top 2 steakhouses at Cut (also in Palazzo)

Bellagio:

1. Better location--more in the heart of the strip

2. Second best buffet at least (maybe just moved ahead of Wynn in the last week or so)

3. Longer check-in than Venetian usually.

4. Best high stakes poker room but not good for comps unlike Venetian where they will give you what you earn.

5. Single zero roulette with European rules (best in Vegas if you bet $100-$300 minimum outside)

6. Best restaurants with view of fountains: Picasso, Le Cirque, etc.

7. Nice caviar bar that tops out at osetra which is still good.

8. O (Cirque du Soleil) is one of the best shows in Vegas.

Overall, I would look for things that might be important for you and then weight them accordingly. Someone who plays roulette for big money will definitely prefer Bellagio to Venetian which has single zero but not European. If the fountains are on your list, Bellagio is perfect for you.

If you will be spending time in your room, Venetian is better. Although some people love Prime and Le Cirque (Tuscan), I think the better steakhouse and Italian (multi-regional) is at Venetian. For buffet and fine dining with a view, Bellagio is better.

Also, when it comes to evaluating websites as sources of information, there are many good sites about Vegas. However, there is one website that gets recommended a lot that you might want to think about.

Cheapovegas.com has a listing of swankiest restaurants in Vegas. On their list is Top of the World.

Restaurants such as Robuchon, Guy Savoy, Alex, Craftsteak, B&B, Okada, etc. were not on their list. They have Top of the World on their list.

Let me repeat this one more time if you don't mind. They put Top of the World on their list ahead of Robuchon, Guy Savoy, Alex, Bartolotta, Wing Lei, B&B, Alize, etc.

If you see anyone recommend that website, hear anything remotely positive in any way about that website, please go to the website yourself and look at their recommendations. You will see that what I am saying is in fact true. Top of the World.
